The Journey of a Lifetime Day Two: July 2

FIREWORKS : Day Two

FINALLY !!! We arrived in Korea at about 5 something in the evening . We were greeted by Jered and Jon  which wasn't hard to pick out because there aren't to many of us over here anyways. First thing is first .. RESTROOM .. Absolutely love their restrooms. Its like having your own private lavatory. There is plenty of space to maneuver and most importantly no one can look under your stall or hear what your doing  (for those who like to poop in public lol ).

Introducing Jered (My Bro) checking electronic devices

Introducing  Jon

So the first cultural difference I noticed is there aren't any real lines for anything , and people tend to bump into you , shove,or push you during any type of walking on the streets, bus, subway, stores, clubs, cafes, museums, bathrooms EVERY and ANYWHERE..And all this happens without using the simple words we learned when we were 2 and 3 years old " excuse me". I had a standoff with a lady in the customs line . She thought she was going to walk right in front of me in line but I showed her. Shoot you better back up winch . This might be hard to get used to . WELCOME TO KOREA !!

Next on the agenda was to get our T-money cards so we could have access to the public transportation. Our T money card would be one of the essentials on this trip.

.

Off to throw our bags in the motel and hit the streets of Seoul . The motel we stayed at for the first two nights we called Capetown Motel ..The motel came equip with two pairs of slippers for the shower ,two robes, toiletries which included : shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, comb, brush, toothbrush ,mouthwash, and cottonballs (Did I mention that all this stuff was already previously used ) LOL....WTH.... Why in the world would I want to use hand soap , and slippers that some random person might have used. I mean that was a nice thought . Thanx but NO THANX . Ill use my own products and shower shoes. After having a good laugh with that one we headed out to the streets..

Seoul .. 2 nights and 1 day stay

Look at the lovely decor

This was our first night here and we did a variety of different things. There were bright lights everywhere and veryyyyy tall buildings. I swear each building probably had about 6 to 8 floors filled with stores ,cafes, and other random establishments. All you see walking around are young couples holding handing and making goo-goo eyes. I feel like everyone was Boo'd up. I must say it really made me miss mine even more :) !!

Ok so by this time its probably like 9 or so and we are HUNGRY ..We hooked up with Jons girlfriend ( Tasha) and hunted down a place to eat. So you know what we had to try out first Bimbimbap. My parents talked about this dish like it was the best thing in this whole wide world. When they got back from Korea  this was all they would talk about . So this dish had ALOT of hype attached to it. So you know I was excited to see just what the hype was all about. Jon took us to this spot to try this INFAMOUS dish... and the verdict was it was good. Not exactly what I was expecting from what I heard and the pictures I saw. The dish was actually seasoned with BLAND again. I had to Doctor it up. So once I put in the pickled radishes, kimchi  (yes I ate kimchi) and red sauce it was good to go . I also had Kimbop which to me is Korean sushi haha and that was good. This meal I would rate as a 6. But Hey that's just me . I bet If you asked my girl KP she would rate it lower LOL..So I think I was fairly generous in my numbers.

After dinner we did a little walking around downtown . Went to a little river walk where lovers dwell and hang out. It was a cute little place to have a romantic date and glare into the nights stars. Of course the only person who had a Boo was Jon. So I had to make do with the ladies.. We had a good time regardless. By that time it was time to hop on the subway and head back. The subway line closes at 12. and apparently its extremely hard to hail a taxi after those hours. We were fighting to stay awake on the subway . I lost the battle and so did sleeping beauty.

Whelp that pretty much wraps up Day Two. Had a standoff with an Asian lady at the airport, ate authentic cuisine , sight-saw ,and went to bed. Until next time . Live.Laugh. Love

The Journey of a Lifetime Day One : July 1

Friday , July 1 Departed from San Fran International Airport destination is Incheon South Korea. The Fam's first time traveling together outside the country, and as adults. This epic adventure had to documented each step of the way. Which I did daily with the help of my Ipod and my camera. I blogged each day the highs and lows of this experience. And I would like to share my journey with you . As you read you will experience things through my eyes. There were alot of laughs and annoyances throughout this trip. However, I had an AMAZING time and met AWESOME people through my travels. I  hope you enjoy reading about this 2 week Epic journey. "The Fam" decided to call the theme of this trip  "FIREWORKS". And so it begins ..............

We first met up in San Fran Airport this is where our journey    begins to South Korea

We flew to Korea on Asiana Airlines ..The service was like none other. It was wonderful. I received slippers for my feet, a pillow for my head, a blanket for warmth, a hot towel to wipe my face , a menu to select my meal, an array of media/game selection to meet my entertainment needs. This isn't going to be a bad 11 hours after all  I thought to myself . WRONG !!!! I was tired as HECK.. I slept for one hour. My body was all disoriented. I didn't know whether I was coming or going. Then they wanted to "ACT" like it was night the whole time. They turned the lights off and shut down the plane at about 3 -4 o'clock PM. Even though I could see the sunlight peaking through for the whole 11 hours. I thought  I was going to go crazy ..

Its a big one !!

Those slippers I mentioned. Sit back and Relax

The time difference is crazy. 11 hour flight. We left July 1 at 1:10pm and arrived July 2 at 5:30pm. You do the math.

This Dude was knocked out before we took off.

Hot towel so refreshing.

Part of my entertainment packet ! I selected 10 movies to watch on this flight. I watched 4 of them I believe.

So one thing I neglected to mention or take a picture of was my first meal . Throughout my travels I attempted to document every meal I ate . I LOVE food so this was extremely necessary for me .So look for the food blog soon of this trip. But back to the story .. So initial I requested a vegetarian meal option. However, when I got the menu I saw that they offered Salmon with Lemon and veggies. So I figured it was something I could it WRONNNNNNG. When I got the tray it was a little slice of raw salmon with a lemon wedge and Beef . So I told the attendant that I ordered to Veggie option and that I would like that instead. So because they technically didn't have any more vegetarian trays she prepared me a New Dehli tray which was Indian food . It was okay but the rice was a bit dry and the food was actually kinda bland. CRAZY right how can you have bland Indian food when that's all they cook with is Spices.. BUT ITS POSSIBLE .

Anyways I survived and the rest of the plane trip was fine. I watched movies and prayed that I was able to fall asleep . I did for 1 hour . I was waiting patiently to get off the plane .. See ya in Korea !!

Entering into the Real World ..

Yea So its been a long time since I have blogged .. Thanx to one of my followers she has inspired me to get on here once again . S/O to Nadine ..

I really havent had to much to say lately so I guess ill just catch you up on what been going on in MY WORLD ..

So recently Ive just been workin Part-Time at THE LOFT .. Which most of you know Im obsessed with . mainly because of my discount and not because I like the work .
But now its time to get out in the REAL WORLD and make REAL MONEY .. Using my REAL DEGREE . So I had two interviews one with Good Sam Hospital which was for an Acute Care and Comprehensive Inpatient Rehab and the other was with University Speciality Hospital which is an Post Acute Rehab ..I was offered the position at USH. So I accepted and will be working there starting OCT 25th ..I am a little excited because i will be working with a few of my friends but other then that my hearts desire is really to be in Cali and working with children. But this is a good facility to learn and start off as a Entry Level Therapist. The only thing that bites is the 6 month probation . I cant CALL OFF for 6 Months .. I kinda have a slight dilemma though . So the job I applied for at a children's hospital is interested in me coming in for an interview . However, I cant interview with them until I take and pass my boards. (which could be another month or so ). I would have already started my position at USH but if I really like this other hospital and thats initially what I wanted to do and they offer me the position .. WHAT TO DO ?? I dont want to ruin my good name haha

Should I Stay or Should I Go ??

I have 2 weeks left of my internship . So you ask .. Whats my next move ?? And as of right now . Who knows ?? I'm a little torn . On one hand I want to relocate to Cali for a year or two but the thought of being so far from my family and friends kind of blows. Not to mention I would want to move there ASAP and at the current moment I'm broke. So realistically how can you move with no money ?? Should I try and stay here for a year and then move or take a leap of faith ??? The down side with staying here a year is I dont want to get stuck at my first job and decide not to move.. I feel like as soon as you get comfortable in your job the likelyhood of you leaving is slim. I  don't want to stay here (Maryland) and regret not traveling. I want to do it while I'm still single and I don't have any responsibilities but myself.

So  I guess theres only one true solution to this Question ...To PRAY PRAY PRAY

I'm really trying to let the Lord lead me on this HUGE DECISION. I have started to apply for positions in both locations so for now all I can do is ask for YOUR prayers that the Lord will lead and direct me in the right path .

Who wouldn't want to live right on the beach ??
